CYCLONIC STORM
SWEEPS OVER VICTORIA.
TWO LIVES LOST.

A cyclonic storm of great severity swept Victoria, doing heavy damage to crops and property, and causing two deaths.
Frederick Serpell, aged 36, a farmer, died from injuries when the storm swept his house away at Bolton. Mr Serpell, his wife, and two sons were preparing to retire when the house was lifted bodily. The wreckage was strewn for nearly a hundred yards from the site of the house.
Mr Serpell was found 50 yards away. Hjs wife, and children suffered minor injuries. Mrs James Hogan’s home at Heywood was completely wrecked. She had no chance of escaping.
