ROYAL WEDDING.

EXCITEMENT IN LONDON

RUSH FOR VANTAGE POINTS.

Londoners are already excited about the wedding of the Duke of Kent and Princess Marina, which will take place in Westminster Abbey on November 29, and those with money to spare arq frantically endeavouring to hook seats on stands and at windows along the route of the processions (wrote a correspondent on October 29). No place at a price below ten guineas is now available, but even at that cost the demand far exceeds the supply. The ceremony, which is expected to attract 500,000 visitors, will bo marked by most imposing pageantry, and plans are already afoot for illuminations and decorations on a vast scale as an appropriate background for a week of festivities. Practically all hotel accommodation has been booked in advance. People will come from all parts of the United Kingdom and the Continent.

According to the present arrangements there will be three distinct processions, two from Buckingham Palace and one from York House. First the King and Queen will drive in full State, then Princess Marina, with her parents, and finally the Duke of Kent, accompanied by the Prince of Wales. Twenty foreign Kings, Queens, Princes, and Princesses will drive to Westminster Abbey before the arrival of Their Majesties. It was announced to-day that Princess Marina will probably cross the Channel to Dover in the steamer Canterbury, now being specially fitted for the purpose. This vessel is the most luxurious in the cross-Cbannel services. It has an observation room and a Royal suite, and a palm court and lounge on the awning deck. A naval escort will probably be provided. It is expected that some difficulty will be experienced in' finding room in Westminster Abbey for all the friends of the Royal bride and bridegroom, for so much of the limited space available has to be allotted to Royal visitors, Ambassadors, Ministers, and Dominion representatives that there will not be enough seats to go round. Press representatives will probably bs accommodated in a special stand in. the north transept. Elaborate technical preparations for a world broadcast are now in hand at the Abbey, where microphones will be- placed all over the building, so that no phase of the ceremony will be lost. The broadcast, the first of its kind ever made, will l>e controlled from a room in the basement. From the roof of Westminster Hospital, adjoining, a full description of the exterior scenes will be broadcast.
