TWO MEN SENTENCED.

INVERCARGILL, Nov. 7. At the Supreme Court, Charles Martin Todd, aged 30, married, with three children, was sentenced to 18 months’ reformative' detention for theft of county council funds and forgery of pay sheets. Cecil Laurence Gilbertson, aged 32, an accomplice, employed in clerical work by the council, got six months reformative detention, Mr Justice Kennedy remarking that, finding a fraudulent scheme was already in existence, instead of reporting the matter accused had been weak enough to fall and join in with the other prisoner.
