The weekly shoot of the Tokomaru Miniature Rifle Club was held in the hall on Tuesday evening, when the following scores were recorded: I). Standish, 64 —66 129; J. McNeill, 68-68-136; 11. J. Schaw, 66—67—133; T. S. It. Schaw, 68—69—137; B. Guy, 68—69—137; A. Moody, 64—64 128; C. Williams, 68—69—137; T. Kelly, 59 —62—121; S Claridge, 65—65—130; J. Hansen, 67—69—136; F. Gyde, 67-65—132; B. Cookslcy, 69—67 —136; T. Small, 53 52 - .105; R. Scanlon, 67—69—136; H. Wilton, 65-63-128. The monthly meeting of the Women s Institute was hold in tho hall on Wcdnesday afternoon and was conducted by tho junior members, Miss D. Towlor acting as president and Miss E. Corlctt ns secretary. A letter was received from _ tho Eree Ambulance acknowledging receipt of a donation from the institute and thanking members for the effort they had made. A dramatic circle was formed of the following members: Mesdamcs H. Schaw (producer), 0. Voss, H. Parr, Misses D. Towler (convener), E. Corlctt, C. Jamieson, A. Mason, A. Anderson, M. Pope, V. Voss and E. Adams. Miss Adams gave a demonstration on first aid which was very interesting. She was accorded a vote of thanks. A playette entitled “Both Ways,” caused much amusement, those taking part being Miss Adams (Mildred March), Miss Corlett (Ann Chadwicli), Miss Towler (Helen Beat), Miss Anderson (Molly Montague), Miss Pope (Reginald March). Miss Towler entertained tho members with a song. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdamcs H. Schaw and F. Gyde. Mrs N. _ Gunning kindly judged the points competition for a plate of assorted toffee, the successful competitor being Mrs C. Voss, with Mrs H. Parr second, Mrs A. Burt third, and Miss D. Towler fourth. The points competition for the September meeting is for a baby s singlet knitted in two-ply wool. The - hostesses will be Mrs H. Liggins and Miss M. Sohwass.
