CHURCH SERVICES.

Local Salvationists are looking forward with great expectations to the visit of Colonel and Mrs Orsborn at the week-end. Colonel Orsborn is- the chief secretary for Army work throughout New Zealand. Prior to his appointment here he held responsible positions in Great Britain. The lecture which he is to give on Sunday afternoon should be of intense interest. In view of the fact that for eight years he was the chief side officer for men at the training garrison in London he is well fitted to speak on the subject advertised. He is an eloquent and forceful speaker. Mrs Colonel Orsborn is tho daughter of Colonel and Mrs Barker, officers who had a great deal to do with tho establishment of Army work in Australia. “Bountiful Provision in the Presence of Enemies” will be the subject at the United Evangelical Church at 11 o’clock. The pastor Mr Wesley E. Richards, will preach. “The Great Tribulation? What is It? Will the Church Go Through It ?” is to bo the subject at 7 p.m. Mr Richards proposes, to consider clear Scripture statements relating to this much discussed subject following the injunction, “to the law and to the testimony : if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them.” Accumulating fulfilment of prophecy goes to show, it is claimed by Mr Richards, that events of great moment are at hand. It is expected there will be great interest in the subject on Sunday night. All are invited. , ' , Evangelist A. Hmrichsen, who has been suffereing with an attack of influenza, hopes to be well enough to conduct the service in the Church of Christ to-morrow night.
