INTER-SCHOOL GAMES.

TECHNICAL SCHOOL TEAMS. The Palmerston North Technical School sent their Rugby and basketball teams to Wellington to fulfill fixtures with the Wellington Technical School, yesterday, and interesting contests found each school winning one match. Palmerston North, opposing tho Wellington B team at Rugby, carried the day by 9 points to 6. Favoured by an advantage in the frontal division, the visiting combination set the pace and endeavoured to open up tho play. However, first blood went to Wellington, when a neat rearguard movement was productive of a try. A reply was almost immediately forthcoming, lor the Palmerston North forwards piled to the attack and Seymour followed up a loose sortie by crossing. Before the interval another unconverted try came the way of the visitors when their winger topped off a back movement to give them the lead. On the resumption Wellington equalised when they profited b.y the faulty handling of the opposing rearguard, but the kick at goal did not improve matters. Time was speeding by and a drawn game was promised, but a penalty against Wellington when on the defensive, enabled Wright to turn it to profit and win the match for Palmerston North. At basketball, Palmerston North met the Wellington A team and although defeated they were far from being disgraced, a free scoring game resulting in tho Capital City side winning by 21 goals to 19. It was a splendid effort on the part of the visitors. Their scorers were Joyce Hands (9), Joyce Clevely (5) and Vaida Blundell (5).
