DISASTER IN CHINA

HONGKONG, May 24. Chinese newspapers report a disaster at Eokchang, in the northern part of the Kwangtung province, where, following recf’it rains, h huge landslide occurred in the Kaiman Mountains, overwhelming villages and burying scores of inhabitants. Later a great body of water gushed out of the mountain-side, drowning many persons. Boulders, falling into the river, capsized boats. The total loss of life is in the vicinity of 250.
