The attendance at the weekly shoot held on the Ohakea Miniature Rifle Club’s range on Monday night showed an improvement, and the scoring was higher all round. J. Simpson registered a possible. Murray, 58 —61 —119. The teams to represent Ohakea against Longburn on the Ohakea range on Thursday evening will be as follows: A team: —J. Simpson, G. Wiggins, H. Ellery, E. Simpson, P. Ellery, W. Klatt, F. Simpson, K. Green. B team: C. Cockburn, L. Snellgrove, G. Murray, S. Quinlan, J. Frocklington, J. Ellery. Members and supporters of the Bulls Football Club met on Monday evening to consider the advisability of holding a ball. There was a good attendance, including a number of ladies, and Mr C. E. Vile presided. It was unanimously decided to hold the function towards the end of June, and arrangements will be made to secure the Town Hall and a professional orchestra. Bulls and Rata Rugby seniors play at Rata on Saturday, and Bulls and Huntcrville thirds at Bulls. Athletic and Flock House thirds will meet at Flock House. In the Te Kawau Sub-Union, Ohakea and Oroua Downs seniors play at Oroua Downs, and Ohakea and Huia juniors at Ohakea. An all day tournament was held by the Ladies’ Golf Club on Tuesday, but the weather was very rough, making good play very difficult. In the medal rounds the best cards returned were as follow: Silver: Miss M. Tricker, 92 —9—83. Bronze: Miss Walker, 103—21 —82; Miss Price, 105 — 23 —82. In the junior grade the best card was that returned by Mrs Caldow. In the afternoon a nine-hole Canadian foursome was played, the winners being Misses MeKelvie and Amon, 50—10—40. On Tuesday next a four-ball bogey match will be played, and members are to arrange their own partners and opponents.
