MISSING DEER STALKERS.

SEARCH PARTY ORGANISED. The continued absence of Messrs L. A. Murrell, of Lake Manapouri, and K. W. Dalr.vmple, of Bulls, who are overdue on their return from a wapiti stalking expedition in tho southernmost portion of the South Island, is giving their relatives concern and Mr R. O. Dalrymple, of Bulls, a brother of Mr Dalrymple, has gone south to Manapouri to instigate a search for the missing sportsmen. It is the intention to charter a Government tug to proceed to the Sounds, while an aeroplane will make an aerial reconnaissance of the locality. At present the weather conditions are adverse, but as soon as it clears the search party will set about their task. Mr Murrell is the proprietor of the hostel at Lake Manapouri, while Mr Dalrymple is a well-known figure in farming, local body and sporting circles in the Rangitikci. Both are experienced outdoor men, but as they' bad been due .to return to Manapouri on April 29 the delay is causing some alarm, although it is recognised that they’ would be traversing particularly' wild and rugged country which is subject to flooding and this might hold them up for a considerable period. However, they, carried an extensive food supply. At yesterday’s meeting of the Kiwitea County Council it was decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Miss Dalrymple, of Bulls, in the worry occasioned by the non-appearance of Mr Dalrymple and expressing the hope that the missing sportsman would soon report all well.
