RACING AT RANDWICK. SYDNEY, May 12. The Tnttersall’s Club races were held at Randwick to-day in the finest weather. Results : James Barnos Plate. Ono milo and three furlongs.—Journal, 7.0 (Parsons), 1; First Balloon, 7.0, 2; Lightning March, 7.10, 3. Twelve started, including Oro and Forestry. A long head; a length and a half. Time, 2.224. Flying Handicap, of six furlongs.—Veilantir, 7.11 (Knox), 1; Multudo, 9.13, 2; Anchor, 7.1, 3. Eleven started, including Blixten. Half a length; three lengths. Time, 1.13. Two-year-old Handicap. Six furlongs.— Silver King, 7.13 (Bartle) 1; Rogerio, 6.10, 2; Watson, 7.10, 3. Sixteen started. Silver King made a most impressive dash and ran right away irom Watson in tho straight to win by eight lengths. Time, 1.134. MOONEE VALLEY RACES. WINNER LEFT AT POST. MELBOURNE, May 12. At- the Mooncc Volley races tho following was the result of tho Banya Hurdles: Sarokos, 10.0 (Zeally), 1; Riawena, 9.9 (Healey), 2; Harding, 9.7 (Dynon), 3. Eight sturtod, including the New Zealander Spring Abbey. Although left at the barrier, Sarokos mado up the lost ground and won comfortably by three and a half lengths, with three-quarters of a length between socond and third. Spring Abbey was sixth. Time, 3.534. OWNER’S COMPLAINT. ADELAIDE, May 13. The South Australian Jockey Club stewards yesterday held an inquiry into a complaint of rough riding in _ the Goodwood Handicap tho previous Saturday. No fewer than 16 jockeys, including A. Reed, were asked to explain. Reed rode Veridique, whoso owner made a complaint. All the riders except Reed, who is in Melbourne, declared that tho race was cleanly run, and the stewards dismissed the complaint. C. W. CROPPER PLATE. SYDNEY, May 11. The Australian Jockey Club announces that the C. W. Croppor Plate, hitherto a six furlongs weight-ior-ago race, will in future be weight-for-age with penalties and allowances somewhat similar to the Caulfield Futurity Stakes. The prizemoney has been increased from £IWXI to £ISOO. It is understood that tho alteration is due to the paucity of starters in tho Cropper Plato in tho past two years.
