Hon. Sir George Fowlds, chairman of the Massey Agricultural College Council, was a visitor to Palmerston North to-day. . Mr K. J. Holyoake, M.P., for Motueka, who has been visiting Palmersion North for the Boyes-Taylor wedding, has returned to his home in Nelson.
Mr L. Canton, Tuakau, Port Waikato, and formerly of Palmerston North, has been compelled to enter an Auckland hospital to undergo a serious operation. Mrs A. H. Holland, who has been the guest of her mother, Mrs W. Remnant, for the Boyes-Taylor wedding, returns to Hamilton with her children Glennis and Barry this evening. / Mr F. C. Campbell (headmaster of the Russell Street School) and Mrs Campbell will attend the graduation ceremony of Victoria University College at which their son, Mr I. D. Campbell, is to receive his LL.B. degree.
Mr F. L. C. Scrivener, formerly of Massey Agricultural College, has been appointed by the Auckland Education Board to the position of itinerant instructor in agriculture for the Boy of Plenty-Tliames A r alley district, _ with headquarters at Paeroa. Mr Scrivener commences his duties on May 21.
Mr J. R. Corrigan has resigned from the board of directors of tlie Hawea-a Co-operative Dairy Company owing to ill-healtli. Ho lias been a director for 28 years and chairman for 17 years. It is understood that Mr Corrigan lias decided to retire from all directorates with which he has been associated, says an exchange. He is chairman of tlie AVest Coast Refrigerating Company, tlie Egmont Box Company and tlie Hawera Winter Show Company and a director of many other organisations. Rt. Hon. G. AV. Forbes, the Prime Minister, left A\ T ellington by the Limited express Jast evening, in order to take part in the discussions with the High Commissioner for Australia, Rt. Hon.‘ S. M. Bruce, which are to be held in Auckland to-morrow morning. Mr Forbes will return to AVellington on Monday morning. Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, returned to AVellington from the north by the Limited express yesterday morning. He left for Auckland by the Main Trunk express this afternoon, and will take part in the Ministerial discussions with Rt. Hon. S. M. Bruce there to-morrow.
