CROQUET.
FEILDING CLUB CLOSES. To mark the official closing of the season, members of the Feilding Croquet Club enjoyed a full dav’s play on AA’ednesday, friendly games being played in the morning and following lunch, which was served at the green, competitions were indulged in. The trophies were presented by Airs J. A\’. Bramwell and the following were the results: —Hurry scurry, Mesdames Rodgers and Ewen : ladder. Airs Ramsay; golf. Airs Clifford; French, Airs Burne. Runner-up on aggregate for trophy donated by Airs E. Rodgers. Airs G. Dewe. Following the afternoon tea adjournment, the president (Airs K. Dewe) presented the season’s trophies as follow:-—Senior championship, holder of Lovett Cup. Airs Burne. AA’ednesday competition for trophy presented bv Airs E. Rodgers, senior, Airs Rodgers; junior. Airs Ewen. Handicap singles, Air and Airs .J. S. Tinge,y’s trophy, AUs E. Rodeers. Bowling team winners, Air J. AV. Bramwell’s trophy. Airs Aloorc (skip): Air Alurch’s trophy. Airs Burne (No. 2). Junior silver button, Mrs H. Pearson. Holder of the Lumsden gold mallet brooch. Airs E. Rodgers. Bramwell Ferns, ATesdames Burne and Pearson. The club is‘the present holder of the Alanawatu Centre banner.
The secretary (Aliss 1. Bartholomew) was made the recipient of a presentation for her untiring services in the interests of the club. The thanks of the members for her services during the season were also
extended to the president and to all who had donated trophies.

wood, Parker, Linton, Rosser, A’allanoe, Brown, Beazer. Players are request- 1 ed to lie on the ground at 2.30 p.m. | RIFLE SHOOTING. The Cheltenham Rifle Club fired for the Port Cup last week, R. Taylor winning by counting out G. Pilcher and F. AA’oiford. Mr Taylor, who is well over 70 years of age, scored a splendid 97 off the rifle. The shoot was over the 300 , 500 and 600 yards ranges and details are as follow:—R. Ta.vlor, 31 34—32—(10)—98 ; G. Pilcher, - 29—33 33 (4)—98; F. The third championship shoot for the A and B grade Belt will be held tomorrow. PERSONAL. Aliss Vivienne Blamires. L.A.B. (violin), daughter of Rev. E. O. and Mrs Blamires. of Eeilding, has been awarded a scholarship by the Royal Schools of Alusic, London. This award comes as a. recognition of Aliss Blamires’s work in the practical examination held in September last by the Examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools, when the candidate secured her L.A.B. diploma. The scholarship is for two years, and Aliss Blamires will proceed to London next year to enter the Royal Academy.
