Rain falling throughout tho day softened tho track for the concluding programme of the Egmont Racing Club’s winter meeting, but a good attendance assembled and tho totalisator handled £6533, an increase of £971 on tho second day last year. Tho total for tho two days, £14,990 10s, showed an increase of £3207 10s. An inquiry into tho running of Orapai in tho Mokoia Handicap was adjourned. Results : iMANAWAPOU HURDLES HANDICAP, of £l2O. Tea Garden lost his rider at the second hurdle, Count Landrolf, Don Erma and Consent being prominent at varying stages. The first-named pair led into tho straight from Palm, who made a good finish to win by half a length with Esteem two lengths further back and Count Landroff fourth. Time, 2.47 4-5. Brown Abbey fenced much bettor than on tho first day and he led throughout, tho issue never being in doubt., Manuiri, always handy, made a final spurt, but failed by half a length to reach tho leader. Carfex led from the jump out to the straight entrance, where he was closely followed by Protomint, Lady Spy, and Prince Colossus.
