WAVE OF SELLING.
GRAIN DUMPING RUMOURS. NEW YORK, April 16. A wave of liquidation, believed to be induced by pessimistic reports relative to silver legislation and rumours of the dumping of grain holdings by large operators, drove down grain prices today for the first time for many weeks. Limits for one day’s fluctuations were reached. Wheat, rye and barley were off about five cents a bushel, corn down four cents and oats three cents. May wheat closed at 80 cents, July at 80J cents, and September at 81J cents.
