MASTERTON CLUB.

TO REVIEW POSITION. MASTERTON, April 17. After having catered adequately and continuously for the racing community of the town and district for the past fifty-five years, the Masterton Racing Club is now faced with prospects of having to wind up unless additional support can bo obtained. The whole position will bo placed before a public meeting on Friday afternoon. Recently the stewards resolved to abandon tho club’s autumn fixture owing to the poor nominations received. The present membership of the club stands at 180, and it is felt that if this can be increased to at least 500, the club will stand a good chance of carrying on successfully. A membership of about that size would bring in sufficient revenue to pay for all outgoings, and anything made on the meetings would be clear profit.
