(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKOMARU, April 9. Miss E. Tumaru, of Morven, South Canterbury, war! the guest of her uncle, Mr E. Stokes," during the Easter holidays. Mrs N Gunning and family spent the holidays in'Shannon. Mr W. Gunning, of Nelson, ns visiting Mr N. Gunning, of Tokoinaru. Miss N. Osman has returned home artel* spending her holidays in Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs 11. Gibbs, of Levin, spent tho week-end in Tokomaru. Miss J. MacLaggun, of Petonc, was tho guest of Mr and Mrs I. Gyde during the holidays. Mrs Millar, of Wellington, was the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Grady. . At the monthly meeting of the lokomasu Women’s Institute, Mrs Mac Gill presided over a fair attendance. Two new members were enrolled, Mrs A. Thompson and Miss M. Schwass. It was decided to hold the fourth birthday party on Aprii 13. Mrs C. Voss lias kindly offered to inako and decorate the cake, ’ each membor donating sixpence towards it. It was decided to give a points prize at the end of the yeas to tho value of 10s 6d for competitions held every month. A competition, musical pored, was won by Mrs 11. Parr. Community singing was much enjoyed. Rev. Mr Ffitheringham, of Shannon, who was to have given a talk on travel, was unable to attend. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mcsdamcs Corlctt, Cheer and Clarke.
