ATHLETIC RECORDS
FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 8. Several records were made and one equalled at the annual secondary schools’ sports. E. Wordsworth (Sacred Heart College) did 2.2 3-5 for the senior halfmile, beating the record by 1 1-5 seconds. A. J. Sayers (Auckland Grammar School) covered 440 yards in 51 2-5, or 4-ssec. better than the previous record. This time is considered a New Zealand schools record. R. B. Cruickshank (Auckland Grammar School) beat the high jump record by 3in., lea-ping sft 7in. In the mile race, F. E. Watt (Auckland Grammar School), who runs with a crippled right arm in a sling, reduced the record by llscc., doing the distance in 4.33 3-5.
