HEAD-ON COLLISION.
MOTOR CYCLISTS INJURED. Per Press Association. WAIMATE, April 9. At tho result of one of them swerving to avoid a stray horse, two motor cyclists collided head-on at Makikilu on Saturday evening, Thomas Stoddart, aged 27, sustaining a broken leg and severe body injuries and John Rathgen, aged 22. of Waimate, severe head injuries, a broken wrist, and a broken leg. . Stoddart, a motor cycle salesman, of Timaru was transporting a cycle in a special sidecar attached to his machine and Rathgen’s machine struck Stoddart’s between the engine and tho sidecar. Both men were sent to hospital in a critical condition, but were improved to-day.
