KING'S CUP WON BY ROGILLA. CHATHAM'S~CONSISTENCY. SYDNEY, April 8. The Australian Jockey Club's meeting was concluded at Kanchvick on Saturday. The Doncaster winner Chatham continued on his winning way with an easy victory in the C. W. Cropper Plate. Golden Wings was favoured at the start. Due to his bad manners at the post Golden Wings was hurdled oft' on the outside, and was moving in to take up his position when the barried lilted. Making most of this advantage Golden Wings quickly established a substantia! lead, and led round the turn, but he was unable to pace it in the final stages with tho mighty Chatham. The King's Cup field, which comprised Australia's best weigM>for-age horses, including two Melbourne Cup winners, provided the most thrilling finish seen at Randwick for a long time. Peter Pan, Kuvera, and Rogilla raced abreast over the final half-furlong, Rogilla finally getting his nose in front a stride from the post Tho crowd showed its appreciation by a prolonged outburst of cheering. Oro and Mr Kerry, together, were first into the straight, closely pressed by Peter Pan, Silver Scorn, and Kuvcra, with Rogiila making a fast move. A furlong from home Peter Pan and lvuvera had a slight advantage over Rogiila. Then ensued a thrilling struggle. The Sydney Morning Herald says that the four days’ autumn racing carnival of tho A.J.C. at Randwick was most successful and proved conclusively that the Turf in New South Wales is again definitely on tho upward trend. The attendance for the four days was 10,000 more than that for the corresponding meeting last year, and totalisator investments showed a big increase.
