ASHHURST.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, April 4. A social was held on Monday evening in the Methodist Church, the occasion being a kitchen evening in honour, of Miss G. Fairless, whose marriage to Mr N. Stockbridgc, of Wellington, takes place shortly. The tiino was spent with items, games and competitions. Musical items were contributed by Misses I. and J. Fenwick, and Miss M. Dunstall and Master C. Dunstall. At a suitable juncture Rev. R. E. Eordyco asked the guests of honour to open tho parcels, which contained a good assortment of kitchen utensils. Mr Stockbridge returned thanks on behalf of Miss Fairless, after which supper was served by the ladies.
