NEW STATE’S WORRIES.

DISAFFECTION IN MANCHUKUO. SHANGHAI, March 13. Harbin reports a revolt of so-called Manchukuo troops in the vicinity of Sanhsing along the Sungari River, where a punitive column of Japanese infantry was ambushed. It is alleged that the bandits presumably wiped them out, since the official Japanese report merely records, “The expedition is missing as the result of the troops’ revolt.” Despite Japanese claims that peace reigns in Manchukuo, reports indicate conditions of lawlessness in many parts of the huge new State, particularly along the Chinese Eastern Railway, where large mobs of nomadio bandits continue acts of sabotage, the most recent of which forced a complete suspension of traffic at the western terminus.

Japanese armoured cars patrolling the line discovered the track destroyed at three sections and two bridges dynamited within 20 miles of Pogranitchnaya.
