MOTOR BOAT TRAGEDY.
SURVIVOR COMMENDED. Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, Feb. 2. Remarking that from the evidence he had arrived at the conclusion that the attempt to cross Cook Strait in the outboard motor boat Miss AYellington ivas a hazardous venture, considering the frailness of the craft, the Coroner (Air E. Gilbertson) returned a verdict that death was due to exhaustion produced by protracted immersion in the sea, due tp the boat capsizing, at the inquest on Harold Clarke.
The Coroner described the conduct of the survivor, F. Barrett-AA 7 ood, who supported deceased in the water until they were picked up by the collier Kiwi tea, as highly commendable.
