new mile record. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Feb. 1. Swimming in the one mile Otago championship event at the Municipal Baths this evening, J. O Driscoll broke the Otago record by covering the distance in 24.25 1-5. P. Mathiesnn, who won and registered, the fastest time in the Zenith Chib’s mile and a quarter harbour race on January 10, led by about 10 yards most of the way, but O’Driscoli overtook him in the later stages to win by eight yards.
