LASH FOR DRUG SMUGGLER.
OTTAWA, Oct. 20. ■ A man convicted a fortnight ago of attempting to smuggle into the country narcotics valued at 200,000 dollars received his sentence to-day. It was as follows: —Fourteen years’ imprisonment; 10 lashes; a 3000 dollar fine. —Reuter.
