The Foreign Secretary (Sir John Simon) has sent the following telegram to the Turkish Minister for Foreign Affairs:— "On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Turkish Republic I take pleasure, on behalf of His_ Majesty’s Government and the United Kingdom, in offering Your Excellency most cordial congratulations. It is their sincere wish, thanks to the achievement of these ten years, that Turkey may, under the guidance of her distinguished President, enjoy every increasing prosperity and happiness.”
