A depression moved very rapidly across New Zealand during the past 24 hours and an anti-cyclone of increasing intensity is now advancing from the Tasman Sea. A spell of finer weather is, therefore, indicated. Forecast: Moderate to strong, but decreasing, southerly winds. AA'eather: Fine, temperatures cold, with some frosts inland. Seas rough, but later moderating. MANAAVATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —2ft. 9ins.
