WINTRY WEATHER.
BRITISH ISLES SWEPT. (British Official Wireless). RUGBY, Oct. 29. Wintry conditions set in over the whole of Great Britain yesterday with a renewal of the gale on the East Coast and showers of sleet, hail or snow in most parts of the country. Snow in certain parts of Northern England and Scotland impeded road traffic, and during heavy weather in the North Sea several steamers sought shelter in Bridlington Bay, including the Dutch motor-ship Europa, of Groningen, whose compass, wheelhouse and forecastle were washed away. Several trawlers were in difficulties.
