SWIMMING.
Y.M.C.A. CLUB MEETS. The annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Amateur Swimming and Life-Saving Cluh was held last evening, when Mr C. C. Woods presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Miss D. Mason and Mr R. Haddon. The annual report (previously published) and balance-sheet were read and adopted, while the election of officers resulted:—Club captain, Mr B. Weeks; vice-captain, Mr T. Twigge; secretary-treasurer, Mr It. Haddon; handicappers, Messrs It. Haddon and B. Weeks; delegates to Manawatu Centre, Messrs It. Haddon and B. Weeks. it was decided that the club nights be held at the Municipal Baths. It was reported that February 1 had been allocated to the club for the holding of its carnival, and the following championships had been offered the club: —Men’s 50 yards free style, ladies’ 100 yards free stylo, ladies’ flying squad (Fisher Cup). Provided sufficient support is forthcoming. life-saving instruction classes will be held; also swimming instruction classes. At the conclusion of the business, the chairman congratulated the club on having enjoyed a most successful season and expressed the hope that the ensuing year would be just as beneficial.
