RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, Oct. 28. At a complimentary social tendered the “Merrymakers of 1933’’ revue company last evening, Mr F. Wood, on behalf of the company, handed to the chairman of tne District High School Committee a cheque for £35 12s 8d as the nett proceeds of the recent entertainment. Mr S. Haines, who has been on the Marton branch of the Bank of New Zealand for some years, has received notice of transfer to Ohura. Mr R. G. Eade, of Taumarunui, has arrived in Marton in Mr Haines’s position. The death occurred yesterday of Miss F. B. Gibbs, who had been nurse for the past ten years at the surgery of Dr T. G. Harpur.
