DEMAND FOR EGGS.

SALES IN BRITAIN. Received October 30, 8.30 a..m. LONDON, Oct. 29. Australian eggs are selling briskly at firmer prices. This is due to the colder weather causing smaller production on England and the Continent. An interesting feature is the increase is the number of poultry farmers in England, and the consequent greater production which has resulted in a decline in the importation.of foreign supplies in the first nine months of 1933. The total imports by Britain were roughly 13,000.000 long hundreds, as compared with 19,000,000 in 1931. The Australian eggs continue to grow in popularity and more grocers are stocking them. This is partly due to the trade’s publicity propaganda campaign, advertising them in the larger newspapers, as well as the grocery trade papers, but chiefly to tho excellent quality of tho eggs.
