RAILWAY TIME-TABLE
TRAIN TO PALMERSTON NORTH. (From Our Own Corrcspondont.) OTAK.I, Oct. 27. Councillors Cockrell and Milne, of Otaki, on Thursday, intorviowed the General Manager of Railways with reference to the suggested alterations to tho time-table in regard to the early morning train to Palmerston North and tho midday train for Wellington on Saturday. A request was also put forward that the Auckland train should stop at Otaki on its journey north. The deputation was accompanied by Mr W. H. Field, M.P. All were accorded a courteous reception by the General Manager but, unfortunately, were unable to secure any alteration in the time of the Palmerston North train, also the request for a stoppago of the Auckland train was regretfully refused. Tho . failure of the deputation to secure any improvement in the train services, particularly in tho morning train to Palmerston North, is very disappointing, particularly as travellers, who are unfortunate enough to have to use this service, are unanimous that .the request of the deputation that tho train should start later and still arrive at Palmerston North the same time, was a most reasonable one. It is to bo hoped that further efforts will bo made to secure an improvement in Otaki's train facilities.
