TOO MUCH CYCLE STEALING.
I The disappearance of a bicycle left outside premises in Argyle Street, Glasgow, was accounted for when. James Hyslop Herbert, a youth, called at a police office arid confessed that lie had stolen the machine and sold it for ss. When Herbert was charged with the theft at Glasgow Central Court the Stipendiary Magistrate remarked, “There is far too much of this cycle stealing. However, in view of your frankness in the matter, I shall limit the sentence to 10 days’ imprisonment.”
