COMPETITION STILL ACTIVE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. RANGE OF PRICES. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received September 26, 10.10 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 25. At tho wool sales 10,278 bales were offered, including 7219 from New Zealand, and approximately 9360 were sold at active Homo and Continental competition at full late rates. Quotations include the following : Merinos.—Greasy, New South Wales, 18d; Victorian, 161 d; West Australian, 133 d. Scoured.—Queensland, 253 d. New Zealand sales were.—Scoured : Branded “Glenthorne,” top price 28d, average 26jjd. Greasy crossbred: Top price 123 d, average BJd. On the Bradford market Merinos are very quiet and any change in prices favours buyers. Crossbreds are steady. THE SYDNEY SALES. A SLIGHT EASING. SYDNEY, Sept. 25. At the Sydney wool sales to-clay 12,773 hales were offered, of which 11,331 were sold at auction and 309 privately. Prices were 5 per cent, below the closing rates of last week. All descriptions of burry and faulty wools were irregular. Greasy Merino made 22|d for five bales from Moree. The average price per bale last week was £lB 11s 9d, or 14.1 d per lb.
