BOWLING
Bonding will soon be in progress in all parts of the Dominion. In the Wellington Province arrangements have already been made for opening ceremonies. Eastbourne and Seatoun will be tlie first to commence operations. Palmerston bowlers are looking forward to the opening of the greens in this city, and already arrangements are well advanced towards that end. The Wairarapa Bowling Centre has decided to hold a New Year tournament. Other tournaments are allocated as follow': Boxing Day, Featherston ; Anniversary Day, Greytown ; and Easter, Martinborougli. The champion of champion singles and pairs tournaments, it has been decided by the Wairarapa Centre, are to be extended over two Saturdays, the singles to begin on the second Saturday in February, and the pairs to follow' on. Following on an extended discussion on the question of the champion fours competition, it w r as decided that each club find its champion by self nomination and competition among its members. The matter of endeavouring to arrange a visit to the Manawatu Centre early in the forthcoming season was left in the hands of tho executive. The Greytown Bowling Club has accepted the offer of Mr D. P. Loasby for the use of his orchard to hold an Apple Blossom Day, at a date to he arranged by the committee.
