MERGED PORTION OF BOROUGH. CONDITIONS OF AWARD. The FeildLng Borough Council, this morning, received a copy of the award signed by the Governor-General finally fixing the financial adjustment of that part of the borough of Feilding now merged into the Orona County Council. The conditions of the award are that the Borough Council shall pay to the Oroua County Council in respect of cash payments received, personal, property, assets, etc., the liability of which on the borough amounted to £422 2s 3d at March 31, 1925. This amount is to be paid in equal yearly instalments over a period of 26 years and such payments may be made by way of reducing the annual interest on the annual charge due by the County Council to the Borough Council. The outstanding amount shall be subject to current bank overdraft rates until such time as the payment is finalised. The County Council, in its" turn, is scheduled.to pay annually to the Borough Council the •sum of £441 13s Bd, this also to be. paid ; in equal instalments on March 31 and September 30 of each year, the first payment to be made on September 30, 1933. This amount is held to be subject to any •rise and fall in interest consequent upon the possibility of any loan being re-rated and the sinking fund thereon not being sufficient to extinguish the Joan at due date. BOROUGH MATTERS. Notification was received bv the town clerk (Mr N. C. Harding) from the Valuer-General, this morning, that an appointment had been made at 11 a.m. on Tuesdav next for the Mayor (Mr C. E. Taylor) and Cr. E. Fair and Mr Harding to discuss the question of the borough valuations. The Local Government Loans Boa.rd also wrote fixing the hour of 2 p.m. for an appointment with Mr Taylor, when the question of the conversion of the Feilding borough loans will be put before the board. Whilst in Wellington, the borough deputation will also take the opportunity to interview the Audit Department on matters affecting the borough. ST. PALL'S TENNIS CLUB. The annual meeting of St. Paul's Presbyterian Tennis Club was held last night, -an excellent mimber of members being present. Rev. D. R. McDonald presided. Moving the adoption of the report! and balance-sheet (already published), the president congratulated the club on a successful season, both in sport and financially. The credit balance of £6 shown on the balance-sheet was considered by the president to be strikingly indicative of the interest taken by members in their club, the success of which during the .season about to be entered upon, he thought, ; was assurred. > The report was adopted and the following officers elected: —President, ' Rev. D. R. McDonald; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Bartholomew, H. Mclntyre and A. Duthie; hon. secretary, Miss J. Watts; hon. treasurer, Mr J. Watts; club captain, Mr Z. McLeod; committee, Misses S. Pearce, H. Wilson, Messrs D. Smith and T. Page; hon. auditor, Mr O. Aldis.. Thanks were accorded all those who had assisted the club during the year.

It was reported that extensive alterations and improvements had been carried out to the courts, which were in excellent playing condition. It was decided to open the season on October 7. ATTACKED BY BULL. . LOCAL RESIDENT INJURED. ' Mr W. Green, of South Street, Feilding, had a narrow escape from serious injury on Sunday when he was attacked and tossed by a bull. In company with Mr J. Bartholomew, he was driving the bull through Mr Bartholomew's property when suddenly the animal turned and charged Mr Green, tossing him several yards away. Mr Bartholomew pluckily came to the rescue with a piece of piping that happened to be handy, the animal being driven off. Beyond a severe shock, Mr Green suffered only slight injuries as the result of the incident. RIFLE SHOOTING. The Cheltenham Rifle Club conducted two club matches on Saturday. P.
