HOROWHENUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Sept, 22. Among competitors at the Hutt flower show was Mr H. Witchcll, of Otaki. He gained awards for his trumpets and ieedsii. Among visitors to Otaki at present is Mrs Taylor, an English journalist and world-wide traveller.
The heavy rain which fell on Wednesday night and yesterday was responsible for a rising in the streams in the district and some minor flooding. At a meeting of the committee of the Otaki Horticultural Society it was stated that the result of the show was very satisfactory. Votes of thanks were accorded all \Vho assisted. Rev. Father Riordan congratulated Miss Swabey (secretary) on the fine work she has accomplished.
