THE HITLER SALUTE.
BERLIN, Aug. 4. Sentence has been passed by the Court of First Instance at Karlsruhe on a man who failed to raise His arm in the “Hitler salute” during the playing of “Deutschland über Alles” at a festival. The case is noteworthy as being the first in which a Court of Law has decided that failure on such occasions to give the Hitler salute—which it declares to be “common usage”—constitutes “a danger to public order” and is therefore a penal offence.
