MANAWATU KENNEL CLUB.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In last evemhg’s issue of the “Standard” is a report of the Manawatu Kennel Club’s meeting, headed “Venue of Shows.” I as a member of the Manawatu A. and P. Association would like to know what is going to take the place of the Kennel Club's exhibition at our next Spring Show. Surely our Show committee is not going to let this valuable asset be lost for the sake of a. little finance. I have taken particular notice of the space allotted to the Kennel Club, year by year, and during the last three years it has been cut down bit by bit, and now it appears*to be a case of squeezing out altogether. What are we going to lose next? We must admit we iiave some of the finest specimens of dogs in New Zealand located in and around this district, and everyone has a particular interest in one or other section of our Show. Therefore, if the A. and P. Association desires to increase its gate revenue (which must suffer if the Kennel Club is to stage a separate show) it must give the Kennel Club a fair hearing and cater for town and country alike. Perhaps some abler pen will be good enough to enlighten me as to the conditions under which the club stages its exhibition with the A. and P. Association, and where its finance conies from. —I am, etc., INTERESTED. 22/9/33.
