FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Sept. 21. Heavy rain fell in Foxton and district throughout last night. Lawns and gardens were inundated and Alain Street resembled a lagoon in the early hours of the morning. Steady rain fell all day and fears of a flood are entertained. Airs Sherwood, of Cook Street, is confined to her bed vyth a severe illness. Mr G. Perrcau is visiting his parents, Air and Airs At. E. Perreau, of Foxton. At a special meeting of the Foxton Borough Council, after a discussion on matters concerning the appointment of a manager for the local gas works, it was decided to appoint Air A. G. Thomson, of Wnitaki, to the position.
