DEATHS IN MEXICO. MEXICOCITY, Sept. 18. Tho death toll from Friday’s tropical hurricane mounted to-night to 135. As the swollen streams receded troops recovered 45 more bodies in San Luis Potosi and 21 in Tampico. CAROLINA REACHED. DESOLATION INFLICTED. NEW YORK, Sept. 18. A messago from Newbern, North Carolina, states that fifteen dead, many missing, hundreds of homeless and property loss amounting to millions of dollars were listed to-night as the North Caroline coast counted the cost of the hurricane on Friday and Saturday. Many small communities are almost wholly desolate and lacking food and shelter.
