SHOOTING SENSATION.
INTRUDER IN GARAGE. MAN’S LUCKY ESCAPE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 20. A shooting sensation is reported from Kirwee. Allott Caygill Gallagher, aged 19, the son of a farmer, was shot above the heart by an intruder whom he found in his father’s garage when he returned late from a. meeting in the township. There was a brief struggle and the intruder fired. After dropping his swag he escaped. Mr Gallagher was sent to hospital and his condition is satisfactory. He had a. lucky escape. The police are scouring the district.
