SERIOUS INJURIES.

FOOTBALLER AND FIANCEE. COLLISION AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 18. R. Hazelhurst, the Canterbury Rugby representative, and his fiancee, Miss Dulcie Cameron, are in a serious condition in the Christchurch Hospital as a result of being thrown from a motor cycle in a. collision with a taxi in Ferry Road last evening. They have head injuries and both were unconscious throughout the night. Tiro accident occurred at 10.10 o’clock. Hazelhurst was riding the motor cycle and Miss Cameron was a passenger on the pillion seat. They had attended a concert at the Civic Theatre and were travelling along Ferry Road. A ta.xr was proceeding along Fitzgerald Avenue from north to south and a collision occurred near the centre of the intersection. Hazelhurst was thrown forward and his head and shoulders were precipitated through a pane of glass in the rear window. Miss Cameron struck her bead on the upper portion of the car. The occupants of the taxi, besides tlie driver, wore three members of the crew of the Canberra and all escaped injury. The motor cycle was badly damaged. DUNEDIN FATALITY. YOUNG MAN’S DEATH. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Sept. 18. _ Ralph Knarston Joseph, aged 25. received fatal injuries on Saturday when his motor cycle swerved over a st-one, throwing him on his head. He died before the ambulance arrived. His sister, wlio was riding on tlie pillion seat, was not injured.
