FREE AMBULANCE.

Mr L. C. Turnbull, secretary-treas-urer of the Free Ambulance, in a_ letter to the “Standard” says:—“lt is regrettable to have to state that certain people, evidently intent upon discrediting the good work being done by the Free Ambulance Service, are, presumably to their own advantage, broadcasting misleading statements with regard to.the scope of the service. In reply 1 have been requested to state, emphatically, that the ambulance service is free and available in all cases of sickness (contagious or otherwise), accident and maternity, also that the rumour that the Free Ambulance committee charge for services rendered is absolutely untrue. The committee wishes the public to know that the Palmerston North Free Ambulance is available to anyone in this hospital district irrespective of their financial position and religious or political views, there being no discrimination whatever.”
