MILSON AERODROME

MANY VISITING iMACHINES. Since Wednesday, • September 6, a number of aeroplanes have visited the aerodrome at Milson, some coming to Palmerston North and others using the aerodrome as a stopping place during a journey. On September 6, a ’plane “ABP,” piloted by Mr Clive Linn, arrived from New Plymouth and returned the next day. The machine is one of those belonging to the Western Federated Flying Clubs. Mr H. Armstrong called at the aerodrome on September 7, flying “ABN,” on a trip from Christchurch to Akitio.

On the following day “A CZ,” with Mr'E. Harvie as pilot, arrived from Wanganui, returning the same day. “ABP,” flown by Mr Parker, arrived from New Plymouth and returned the next da.y. Mr E. Harvie visited the aerodrome again on September 11, he being on a trip to this centre, Foxton and back to Wanganui. The following day, last Tuesday, Flying-Officer Buckeridge departed for Masterton with' the machine “ACD” after training pupils at the Milson Aerodrome.

On Wednesday a Defence Department’s machine, “873,” a Moth, arrived from Auckland direct and left the following day for Sockburn, a stop being contemplated at Blenheim. On Friday “ABD,” a monocoupe machine, piloted by Mr L. Maugham, made a trip to Foxton and back. This ’piano is housed at Milson. On the same day Flving-Officer Buckeridge brought “ACD” back from Masterton and Mr Hugh Dawson, of Massey College, flew the machine to Dannevirke. Flying-Officer Buckeridge left on Saturday for Dannevirke where he will be training pupils. On four occasions during the past two weeks the hangar has been required to house four machines and on one day there have been five ’planes using the airport facilities. This is a particularly busy record for Milson.
