HURRICANE HAVOC.

ON MEXICAN COAST

TAMPICO (Mexico), Sept. 16. A hurricane swept the eastern coast of Mexico to-day, striking the city at 72 miles an hour and killing at least 91 persons. Thousands are homeless. Nine inches of rain fell in two hours.

The hurricane spread death and destruction 300 miles inland. Delayed dispatches from San Luis Potosi reported that from 80 to possibly 100 persons were drowned in a flood when a dam gave way. More than 100 in other localities were injured. Property damage is believed to total many millions.
