QUARTZ CLAIM.
APPLICATION OPPOSED. Per Press Association. WAIHI, Sept. 13. An application by Norman Heath, company manager of Auckland, for the Waihi Central special quartz claim of 100 acres was before the Warden s Court this morning. An objection was lodged by the Waihi Gold Mining Coy., on the ground that tho company had made arrangements with the Government for a geophysical survey of the area. It was applied for with a view to acquiring the area as a special quartz claim. The objecting company alleged that the fact that such a geophysical survev was about to take place kad been published before the application was lodged, also that, ill the interests of the mining industry and the district, the application should not be granted. The case was adjourned.
