SHIPPING INDUSTRY.
IMPETUS FROM EXHIBITION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 9. The shipping and machinery exhibition which was opened at Olympia, London, despite the depressing conditions in that industry for so long, is ail extremely healthy and progressive display. It has attracted engineers from all parts of the world, and is expected to prove an impetus toward trade recovery, which from numerous signs appears to be on its way. Conditions are certainly improving in the shipyards, and last month was the best of the year on the Clyde where five new ships were launched and orders for seven others received. Similar conditions are reported from the Tyne and other shipyards.
