MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

BREACHES OF BY-LAWS

Messrs A. J. Graham and J. T. Boswortli, J.P.’s, presided over a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Palmerston North to-day. Penalties of 10s, with 10s costs, were imposed on S. Greenhill and R. Howe for riding cycles at night without lights. Stated to have ridden his motorcycle for a distance of 19 paces along tfie footpath in Cuba Street, J. Boucher pleaded guilty. Senior-Ser-geant Whitehouso said that, when approached, defendant ascribed his act to no other motive than “tomfoolery.” The Bench imposed a fine of ss, with 10s costs.
