The Foxton Harbour Board has decided to approve of the alteration of the naming of Sanatorium Road to Seabury Avenue in connection with the beach main highway.
Toheroas are now reported to be fairly plentiful on Foxton Beach. Regulations approved by . the Marine Department last year govern the taking of toheroas which are subject to a season and no person is allowed to take more than a limited number.
On Saturday an interrdub match between Levin and Herrington Clubs was played at Foxton, the results being as follow, Foxton players being mentioned first: — Singles: E. T. Wilson halved with C. R. Hceie; J. B. Macphcrson beat H. Bull; M. B. Bergin beat E. T. Millar; B. Gavin lost to D. P. Todd; E. Petersen lost to R. Webb; R. Robinson lost to J. M. Brown; C. W. Pedersen lost to W. G. Phillips; W. M. Thomas beat K. Adams; W. Trueman lost to W. Bull; R. Pedersen lost to C. Sherwood; D. R. Ogilvy lost to H. Nicholson; J. Newton boat S. Bradford. Four-ball: E. T. Wilson and J. B. Macpherson beat C. R. Hosie and Bull; M. B. Bergin and B. Gavin beat E. Milfar and D. Todd; E. Petersen and R. Robinson lost to R. Webb and J. Brown; C. Pedersen and W. Thomas lost to W. Phillips and IC. Adams; W. Trueman and R. Pedersen lost to W. Bull and C. Sherwood; D. R. Ogilvy and J. Newton boat H. Nicholson and S. Bradford. A special meeting of the Foxton Bor-ough Council was held last evening to consider applications for the position of gas man-ao-Cr to the municipal works. Thirtyfour applications were received from applicants as far as North Auckland and the Bluff. Mr D. Turkington, of Dannevirko, was appointed to fill the vacancy. Playing for the Licensed Victuallers’ Knock-out Cup, on Saturday, Fire Brigade juniors beat Foxton by 12 points to 6.
