CROSSING ACCIDENT.
CRASH AT PAERATA. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. The Auckland-Rotorua express crashed into a cream lorry at the Paerata railway station at ll o’clock this morning. The driver, Bert Adams, a married man, was hurled right over the cab of the railway engine and fell on the side of the line. He was sent to hospital, suffering from facial injuries, a deep cut on the bodv and shock. The lorry was smashed to nieces.
The express engine was damaged and the express was delayed 75 minutes until another engine was obtained.
An eye-witness said he tried to warn the lorry driver, but his vision was apparently obscured.
